Clowne Parish Church Summer Fair Sat 24th June 10am-2pm – All Welcome
Join us for our wonderful summer fair! Doors open at 10am. There will be an exhibition by Clowne History Society with a launch of a new book, Clowne At War, refreshments, stalls and an outdoor bar run by the Old School Taphouse. Come and join us for a day of fun and fellowship. The event is still going ahead despite the road closure on Church Lane, you can access the church by car via either Ramper Lane or Hollin Hill…
Celebrate the King’s Coronation with us, Sunday 7th May, 10am and 5pm
For the King’s Coronation we will be celebrating with a special Eucharist on Sunday 7th May at 10am at Clowne followed by a garden party with cake and fizz. At 5pm we will have a special service of Choral Evensong for the Coronation at Barlborough. Come in your glad rags and enjoy!

Great Outdoors – help create a prayer labyrinth!
Come and help create a prayer labyrinth for Lent This month our Great Outdoors group will be creating a prayer labyrinth in Clowne churchyard. A prayer labyrinth is not a maze – you cannot get lost. There is one route through the labyrinth’s many twists and turns, to the centre. Our Advent Windows Trail in Barlborough Village is back for the third year running! A new window will be lit each day of December and beyond to Twelfth Night. We have had a wonderful Flower Festival this year after a two year hiatus. Lots of people came to view the displays and to hear the fantastic concert which closed the festival. Barlborough celebrates the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with the return of its legendary Flower Festival and a Summer Evening Concert
St James Church Barlborough usually celebrates its Festival of St James every year with a flower festival. After a two year hiatus we are delighted to announce that it is back – dates this year are Saturday 23th July – Tuesday 26th July. This year’s theme is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and will feature floral displays in our beautiful church of aspects of royal life including Trooping the Colour, the Coronation, Royal Ascot, Tea Parties and more. Help us create a new mosaic for our children’s chapel
In 2019 we created a beautiful mosaic for our Miners Chapel at Clowne Parish Church. This year, we intend to create another mosaic, working with the same artist, Coralie Turpin, for the other side chapel at our church, popularly known as the Children’s Chapel as it has a stained glass window of the Christ child. We are running two free workshops for all ages to help us create a Noah’s ark design mosaic for the altar in the chapel. These…
