Dear friends,
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday at 10am for our Eucharist at Clowne and then at 3pm at Barlborough for the Bolsover District Council Civic Service.
I will be away on holiday out of the country from 7th-18th September. While I’m away, should you need a priest urgently, please contact the Area Dean, Rev’d Daniel Cooke on 07932 529449. Fr Iain Faulkner, who you’ll remember from when he was on placement with us, will be taking the services on Sunday 13th September.

Civic Service 6th September 3pm
As last year we are hosting again the Bolsover District Council Civic Service at St James Barlborough. Do come along as we celebrate all the work our local public servants do and pray for our local area. There will be good refreshments after the service!
Hand bell ringing
Please let Lucy Knifton know if you would like to join the new hand bell ringing team. The team will meet on Thursdays at 5pm at Clowne church starting on 10 th September with a view to performing at Christmas!
Exploring Spirituality Course
Our next small group bible study course will be looking at different forms of spirituality. The sessions will be on Tuesdays at 7.30pm fortnightly in Clowne church. You’re welcome to attend all or just whichever take your interest! Each session will involve a short bible study and then trying out the style of prayer or contemplation.

20 Oct – Praying with beads
3 Nov – Contemplative Prayer
17 Nov – Lectio Divina
Finding Faith Confirmation Course
This is a course for anyone wanting to explore Christianity whether you’ve been coming for a long time or are new to all this. There will be an opportunity to be confirmed at the end of the course in a service at St John’s Newbold on Sunday 22nd November at 6pm. Sessions will be held in Clowne church at 7.30pm on these Wednesday evenings:
