St James Church Barlborough usually celebrates its Festival of St James every year with a flower festival. After a two year hiatus we are delighted to announce that it is back – dates this year are Saturday 23th July – Tuesday 26th July. This year’s theme is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and will feature floral displays in our beautiful church of aspects of royal life including Trooping the Colour, the Coronation, Royal Ascot, Tea Parties and more.
Rector, Rev Bryony Taylor said:
“The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is an opportunity for us to gather together again, share stories and meet old friends. These are all things we missed in lockdown, it’s time to start meeting together again. If you haven’t ever visited our medieval church – why not bring the whole family?”
Visit the church between 10am and 4pm from Saturday 23rd July until Tuesday 26th July. Refreshments are available on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4pm. On Sunday we will have our celebration Eucharist of St James at 10am and all are welcome.
The festival will close with a special Platinum Jubilee Concert at 7pm on Tuesday 26th July featuring talented musicians from Barlborough and other entertainments. Refreshments and wine will be available in the interval and there will be a chance to win the knitted Platinum Jubilee Crown from Barlborough Post Box in a special raffle. When was the last time you heard live music? Come and enjoy our summer evening festival, it is free entry with a retiring collection.
The people of Barlborough Parish Church look forward to welcoming you.
