Hello from the Rector

Dear friends,

I hope your Lent is going well. If you haven’t tried anything for Lent yet, it’s not too late! Some ideas:

– set an alarm to pray the Lord’s Prayer once a day
– Read a psalm each day
– Listen to the Pray as you Go service (12 mins): https://pray-as-you-go.org/
– Read through a gospel
– set aside money each week to donate to church or charity as a special gift at Easter

I pray that you will grow closer to God. Remember the verse in the letter of James: Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.

I am on annual leave this week so Rev Adrian Murray-Leslie will be covering services. I will be back in time for Mothering Sunday on 30th March – please note that both churches are having a service: 9.15am at Clowne and 11am at Barlborough.

Please note that because I am away on Sunday 23rd March the service will not be livestreamed. Please watch the Church of England service instead: https://www.youtube.com/@TheChurchofEngland/videos

Every blessing,

Rev Bryony

Here’s how you can help by joining the Parish Giving Scheme and giving by Direct Debit.

A regular gift really helps our cash flow, prevents the need for us to count cash and go to the bank (thereby keeping us safe) and the scheme automatically claims Gift Aid.

It gives all of us peace of mind – you’re not worrying about your envelopes with your cash gift piling up and we’re not worrying about loss of income – it’s a win win!
