Hello from the Rector
Dear friends,
How is your Lent going so far? Have you given or taken anything up? I’ve given up alcohol but this year for the first time I’ve decided to wear my cassock when I’m working – it’s putting me in a different frame of mind and I hope helping me, as Rowan Williams once said ‘keep the rumour of God alive’ in the community as people see me out and about.
Hope to see you at church this weekend, 8.30am on Sunday at Barlborough for Morning Prayer – if you haven’t tried this short intimate service before, why not come along? and 10am at Clowne for our Sung Eucharist. This Lent we are particularly going to be looking at the theme of Generosity and there are some special booklets for you to take home with you to guide you through Lent with prayers and readings.
See you soon,
Rev Bryony
Are you passionate about making a difference? Would you like to see people freed from debt poverty?
We are hoping to move forwards with plans to create a Debt Relief service across our Deanery by gathering a team of volunteers to coordinate this project.
Rev’d Jilly Hancock is hosting a meeting for anyone interested in becoming involved at Holy Trinity, Chesterfield on Saturday 22nd March at 10am. Please email Jilly to express your interest on jillhancock@outlook.com.
