It was announced this week by the Government that places of worship may be opened for private prayer. After some discussion we have decided that we will not open our buildings for private prayer at the moment. This is because they are not normally open for ‘drop in’ prayer (so there is not a big demand). We are also having some work done on the churches while they are closed (repairs etc). In addition, keeping everyone safe and managing cleaning after visits would be quite a burdensome task for our small team of volunteers.
If you would like to visit a church for private prayer the Crooked Spire (St Mary and All Saints) in Chesterfield is opening from 15th June, Monday to Saturday 10am-12noon – please check their website for details before going.
