Hello from the Rector

Dear friends,

Alleluia, Christ is Risen! He is risen indeed, alleluia!

Please note our upcoming annual meeting taking place after the 10am eucharist this Sunday at Clowne. Please stay behind to help us elect our church wardens and PCC members and hear a report of the last year’s activities. You can read this year’s APCM Report for Clowne in advance here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xG9hPRvq0qJvCm9feS3R7tglfi0gKSFZ/view?usp=sharing.

Leading Intercessions Workshop – Wednesday 11th June 7pm, Barlborough
We would like more people to help lead us in prayer in our services on Sunday. We are putting on this exploratory workshop to guide people through how to lead the intercessions in our Eucharist services, get some practice and give it a try. Come along to find out more. All welcome.

This Summer as part of the Big Barlborough Festival we are running our first Brick and Flower Festival and are inviting submissions. Perhaps you would like to do a floral arrangement (the theme is toys) or perhaps you have an amazing lego creation that could be put on display? Either way, please let me know if you would like to take part, the more the merrier! Set up will be on Friday 12th July.

Clowne Summer Fair will be on Saturday 28th June 10am-2pm. Please let me know if you’re interested in having a stall. The theme will be celebrating VE & VJ Day 80.

Please note that there will not be an evening service on Ascension Day this year, it will be a said service at 10.15am on Thursday 29th May at Barlborough. Those wanting to attend in the evening are welcome to come to St Giles, Killamarsh at 7pm where I will be taking the service while their parish is in vacancy.

Every blessing,

Rev Bryony

Here’s how you can help by joining the Parish Giving Scheme and giving by Direct Debit.

A regular gift really helps our cash flow, prevents the need for us to count cash and go to the bank (thereby keeping us safe) and the scheme automatically claims Gift Aid.

It gives all of us peace of mind – you’re not worrying about your envelopes with your cash gift piling up and we’re not worrying about loss of income – it’s a win win!
