Hello from the Rector
Dear friends,
I hope you can join us for our God Loves Clowne Songs of Praise service tomorrow (Saturday 15th Feb at 5pm at Clowne Salvation Army). I don’t know about you but I’ve been feeling a bit glum with this miserable weather – having a good old sing with other people is a great remedy for the winter blues. Do bring friends and neighbours along, it’s going to be lovely.
This Sunday 16th February at 10am is Rev Mike’s last service with us. We have been hugely blessed to have Mike as our curate in our benefice. He has revitalised much of our liturgy – particularly with morning and evening prayer. He has contributed hugely to our ministry at Safe Space and ran the Great Outdoors group successfully. I am so grateful to have had him as a colleague and we are all going to miss him hugely. We wish him all the best in his future ministry and know that his new parishes will be lucky to have him! God bless you, Mike, and thanks for everything!

Living in Love and Faith – a study session exploring sexuality and gender and the church
On Wednesday 26th February at 7pm we are holding a study session at Clowne to look at the topic of sexuality and gender and the church. This is the first time we have explored this topic together and will give congregation members (from both our churches) an opportunity to ask questions and explore how the church can welcome all people into our fellowship. It will be the beginning of our discussions about how we will engage with new materials from the Church of England offering Prayers of Love and Faith to same sex couples as and when they are authorised. PCC members are particularly encouraged to attend but all are welcome who are interested in this topic.
