Hello from the Rector

Dear friends,

Advent season is upon us! We’re beginning it with style with our sung eucharist at Clowne at 10am and then by singing some carols in the Royal Oak Pub, Barlborough as part of their light switch on from 4pm and then at 6pm we have our lovely candlelit Advent Carol Service (one of my favourites!). Do encourage friends and neighbours to come along.

We actually have in December a carol service every weekend this year! Do be telling your friends and encouraging them to come along. I found out this week that tickets to the carol concert at Sheffield cathedral are £36! We don’t charge for ours and our Dickensian Carol Concert can easily rival what is being offered at the cathedral!

Please bring items to church for our Christmas Hampers and Raffle at both churches. Please also take some raffle tickets to sell from Barlborough. Thank you.

Please let Sue Lewis know if you are able to help run a stall for church at Clowne Christmas Fair on 7th December.

Rev Bryony

Here’s how you can help by joining the Parish Giving Scheme and giving by Direct Debit.

A regular gift really helps our cash flow, prevents the need for us to count cash and go to the bank (thereby keeping us safe) and the scheme automatically claims Gift Aid.

It gives all of us peace of mind – you’re not worrying about your envelopes with your cash gift piling up and we’re not worrying about loss of income – it’s a win win!
